What to expect?
At the heart of the method is the Be With: learning to be with something without reacting to it. At the gong, this means pausing, playing less and softer, and letting a single stroke sound all the way down to zero.
Directed focus lets you move between the sound, the vibration, the body and the composition without getting stuck, even when nerves or emotions run high. Decision, action and reflection are first trained on their own and then together. You learn to make decisions without fear of your own judgment, and to reflect honestly without fear of discomfort.
These skills make gong playing more beautiful, and they are also skills for life: to be a gong master is to be a master of yourself. Through meditation, guided practice and hands-on playing, participants develop the awareness, confidence and practical skills to begin offering gong baths with presence and intention.
